LIVING ALONE? 10 IMPORTANT TIPS FOR YOU

Anyone could find themselves living alone. Their partner may live elsewhere, they could be schooling, working, whatever the reason, if you ever have to live alone, these are important tips.

Know a neighbor or two. Deliberately seek them out & introduce yourself. Have their number. If you’re in any trouble or need urgent help, they become your first point of call.

Have first Aid items like Spirit, Bandage etc. Also have meds that can drastically halt things like extreme diarrhea, it can be your life saver.

Change locks once you move into an apartment especially for main doors & install a safe lock. Someone else may have the key to your locks.

A trusted friend and family should know where you live, you may also need them to get to you urgently.

On the other hand random people should not know where you live, for your safety.

Have a spare key that doesn’t sit inside your house. If you drive, you may drop one in your car or somewhere around the house no one else knows about. Reason – You may forget your key or need someone to get into your place urgently.

Ladies, learn some self defense moves. Learn to jab, punch & learn how you can turn regular everyday items to self defense tools.
Learn what parts of a person’s body to aim for to weaken them, so that you can stand a chance to get away from danger if you ever need to. Not every time you behaving like a princess, learn to be the soldier sometimes.

If you have a pin on your phone, I’m begging you, set emergency contacts & add any other vital information like your medical details e.g any meds you’re on or health issues you may have. WHY? If you’re ever in an emergency, this gives people access to your phone. If you don’t know how to do this ask someone or watch a tutorial. Also tell one trusted person your pin.

Switchover your electricity to OFF when you’re out of your house because asides blowing your appliances if there’s a surge, you want to avoid a fire starting in your absence.

Finally, don’t become too used to solitude me other humans. Excess solitude makes you a hermit. Go out.
